Mourinho will have street and exhibicion in Setúbal

José Mourinho HometownSetubal honours “The Special One”.

Former -Real Madrid (now on Chelsea ) coach Jose Mourinho , who completed the 50th birthday in January 26th , is to get a street or an avenue in his Hometown Setubal named after him in honour of his Fantastic and Unique sporting achievements.

José Mourinho’s hometown, Setúbal city , wants to pay a tribute to the former Real Madrid manager and coach, by naming a street after him to coincide with his 50th birthday.

The exact street or avenue has not yet been chosen but the town hall’s general assembly voted unanimously to approve the naming.

The people at Setúbal and all the Portuguese in Portugal and all around the world, have no doubt that Mourinho deserves a statue in his town because he is the who makes it known worldwide Setubal. Let us wait to see if such exist.

Besides this possible honour, the town is also putting on an exhibition about the life of its most famous son. It is due to open on 23rd March at the Galeria Municipal 11 on Avenida Luísa Todi, with the coach expected to attend the inauguration.

One of the main attractions at the exhibition will be replicas of the main trophies win by Mou during his career. Also on display will be items of clothing worn by the coach on the touch-line, including the coat he had on when Porto famously defeated Manchester United in the 2003-04

round of 16.

The Setubal town hall said it had made the decision because of Mourinho’s “extraordinary role in international sport”, but Portugal Dream Coast think and bet ,many years ago he would revolutionize the Football as a Sport, with a  new way and approach to prepare the teams, re-structuring of Clubs and Teams , methodology to train, and some other aspects. We continue thinking José Mourinho will be the Best Coach in the World ever (today he his considered the third).

He is, in all fairness, one of the coaches in the world with the most prestige and qualification.

Mourinho, the self-styled “Special One“, is undoubtedly; the most successful ever Portuguese coach, and we could say with no doubts change the Football in many aspects.

He  celebrate wins  league titles in Four different Countries with Porto (2), Chelsea (2) , Inter (2)  and Real Madrid (1), and has led  Two teams (FCPorto and Internazionale de Milano)  to Two Champions League trophies, 1 UEFA Cup, Cup and Supercup of Portugal, Spain, Italy and England Cups!!!

Total as per today = 20 Titles !!!         and  37 Individual  Awards

Flora of the Arrabida Hills

Flora of the Arrabida Hills

The forest-clad, elongated hammock of the Arrábida Hills is a veritable oasis of natural vegetation amid the suburban sprawl of the Setubal peninsula, with an incredibly diverse wildlife to match.

Its scientific value and state of conservation has led to this protected area being included in the European Network of Biogenetic Reserves.

More than 1,000 species of vascular plants have been recorded from the Arrábida natural park (10,821 ha; also a reserva biogenética).

Not long after Christmas, hoop-petticoat daffodils (subspecies obesus) are out in force, accompanied by the curious friar’s cowl, Barbary nut and Western Peony Paeonia broteri © Teresa Farino the sand crocus Romulea bulbocodium, to be joined by palmate anemone, rosy garlic, wild tulip and the delicate green and purple bells of Fritillaria lusitanica when spring begins in earnest.

March brings a flush of orchids into bloom – champagne, conical, naked man, man and giant, plus the insect-imitating dull, bumble-bee, yellow, mirror and sawfly ophrys – and come April, wild and field gladioli and Spanish irises appear, together with pink butterfly, bug and tongue orchids, while a search among the undergrowth should turn up the less conspicuous violet limodore and two-leaved gennaria.

The sheer south-facing cliffs – accessible only via the trails down to the fishing villages – boast their own peculiar flora, including the diminutive Portuguese endemic crucifers Arabis sadina and Iberis procumbens ssp. microcarpa and more commonplace species such as sad stock, sweet Alison, the Afro-Iberian endemic stonecrop Sedum mucizonia, fringed rue, mallow-leaved bindweed and cut-leaved lavender, with shady nooks hosting Mediterranean selaginella and southern polypody. *

Although you can do walking tours on the Arrabida Hills and appreciate these plants, there are certain parts that are closed to the public since they are considered reserves for observation and scientific studies, named Mata do Solitário, Mata do Vidal and Mata Coberta.
