“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who contributed to make our stay in Setubal an unforgettable experience.

The area around Setubal was rather unknown to us beforehand, but we are really impressed with the diversity the city of Setubal and its surroundings offers. In the narrow shopping streets and the city squares you can experience a great atmosphere. The natural beauty of the hills around Setubal made a lasting impression, as well as the stunning view of the Setubal bay and Troia. The Arrabida Hills, the José Maria da Fonseca winery in Azeitao, Troia and the restaurants A Champanheria, Azeitão, Acqua Lounge, Escola Primária is all worth a visit.

The people are friendly and open. If they don’t know the words in English they will point things out for you and use body language, with a big smile. They even pointed out every fish and dessert in one of the restaurants we vent to. They really want to help.

A lot of great food and wine (the Malay Chicken in Azeitão and the “Sangria Branco” in The Acqua Lounge) and a lot of great places to see. We got to see a little, and would like to come back to see more. This is a new favorite! 🙂

We also fell in love with Quinta de São Filipe. Stunning view, great house and Antonio really makes you feel like home. He’s a great host and very helpful. It takes about 5 minutes before you feel like you’re his new best friend.

Thank you for a great stay, for answering all our questions, for the warm welcome, for showing us around and for finding us in “the secret place” 🙂 You have a great “product” to sell and people will be back year after year when they find it.

All 4 of us loves this place, the people, the food, the wine… And I’m sure that we will be back as soon as it is a little warmer (We even caught on of the boys looking at apartments for sale in Troia this week… :)).

We will continue recommending this place to our friends, colleagues, Facebook friends… Please tell us if there is anything else we can do!”
