The Corroios Tide Mill is dated from 1403 ( XV Century ), when D. Nuno Alvares Pereira give orders to built it. In 1404 it was donated, as well as all assets of holder, who was in the region to the Convento do Carmo, a religious order that he was Master.
In the eighteenth century was expanded has the result of the works, it was undertaken by Earthquake destruction of 1755.
In working order until now , was acquired by Municipality of Seixal that has done restauration works and open it to the public in 1986.
Ranked has Public Interest, the Corroios Tide Mill offers to visitors an exhibition named “600 years of grinding in the Corroios Tide Mill “. There is more Tide Mills in the Peninsula of Setubal.
Schedules : From October to May, closes on Mondays, open from Tuesdays till Fridays (9am/12am and 2pm/5pm), Saturdays and Sundays (2pm to 5 pm) . From : June to September on Saturdays and Sundays (2:30pm to 6:30pm). It is closed on Mondays.
